Asphalt is engineered mixture of aggregate or stone and sand mixture with liquid asphalt cement, a petroleum product. Various sizes of aggregate are mixed with asphalt cement and heated at a state approved asphalt plant. The asphalt is then delivered by truck to your driveway. Once installed and compacted, the mixture will cool and harden.
Your estimator will advice you on what will be the best amount to install. It is often times recommended that 1.5'' inch of asphalt binder and 1.5'' asphalt top course is installed.
